On the evening of November 28, the World Iron and Steel Association announced the results of Steel-Challenge 17 Regional Competition. CQUST students achieved good results in it by winning the top 5 places in the regional competition again. Among them, Liu Haiqing, a Year-2020 student majoring in metallurgical engineering, won the champion of the student group in North Asia, and also won the qualification to participate in the global finals in Vienna, Austria, on behalf of North Asia in April 2023 to compete for the world champion.
